Ready, Set...Salmon!They're catching salmon in the fishing lanes--beautiful, silvery Kings. The largest brought in so far through Henchen
Marina was 27 lbs. Bass fishing in Eastern Lake Ontario continues to be excellent. Anglers are finding that live
bait works best, minnows or soft shells.

Bountiful Bass, Wonderful Walleye, Plentiful PikeIf this past weekend was any indication, it is going to be a stellar year for anglers in Eastern Lake Ontario.
We
held our 31st annual Henderson Harbor fishing derby, where Jason Noble brought in the winning bass at 5 lbs., 8 oz.
Both second and third places were 5 lbs., 6 oz. In the walleye division, Glen Plescher's 11 lbs. 4 oz. beauty took
first place, followed by 11 lbs. 2 oz. and 10 lbs. 14 oz. walleyes in second and third. A 4 lb. bass caught by Zach Walti
took first place in the youth division.
Non-contestents were bring in limits on bass as well, some walleye, and
lots of pike and perch.

A Mixed BagWe saw a little bit of everything this past weekend. Northern pike still rule, but anglers also brought in lakers,
perch and a couple of very nice walleyes. Someone snagged a seven pound bass--too bad it was a week early, as it
would have definitely been a prize-winner in this weekend's Chamber of Commerce fishing derby.

Record-Breaking Walleye WeekendHenderson Harbor hosted the Cabela's Masters Walleye Circuit this past weekend, where a 22-year record was broken for
the most weight in walleyes caught during one day (46.65 lbs., 5 walleyes) as well as a two-day record for weight (85.07 lbs.,
9 walleyes). Meanwhile, anglers are hitting lake trout in the shipping lanes, and bringing in buckets of perch.
We're gearing up for the bass season opening, and the Henderson Harbor Summer Derby, in two weeks.
