Welcome to the 2008 Fishing Season!Hello everyone--it's so good to be back! My apologies for the delay in getting the Eastern Lake Ontario fishing
report up and running.
Perch fishing was strong all winter, and continues to be strong--some sizable perch are
being caught off our dock even! So you don't even need a boat to bring home a tasty catch from Henderson Harbor.
Anglers have been bringing in some monster Northerns and plenty of browns for the past few weeks. Walleye fishing
has been off and on, but the eyes brought in are nice, many trophy-size.
Last week's Henderson Harbor Spring
Classic Derby, sponsored by Fuccillo Auto Mall, attracted 250 anglers with it's guaranteed top prize of $1000 in four
categories, and other cash prizes to fifth place in each category. Anglers probably should have concentrated more on
catching lakers--as you'll see below, only four prizes were awarded in that category, the bottom winner only 4 pounds.
The other categories were all extremely competitive, though, which bodes well for the season as a whole. I hope those
of you who didn't make the derby this year will sign up next year.
Here are the top and bottom prize winners
